YONKERS'RACE WEEK_SIRES, MORE SIRES AND SHEPPARD

Monday night's first NYSS grouping includes Artmagic (George Brennam post 2) and Roll Away Joe (Jim Morrill Jr., post 7), both of whom statebred winners the other time road show stopped by.

Thursday night's $163,374 Michael Sorentino Trot finds two divisions of soph colts and geldings

Dayson (Yannick Gingras, post 1), despite jumping it off in the half-million-dollar final of Pocono's Beal, looms a very short price in the $80,937 opening division. The Conway Hall gelding makes his first purse try with straps looking for a 12th win in his 16th career start.

Dante (Ake Svanstedt, post 1), fresh off a win in the Vernon's Empire Breeders Classic (though 25 days between that start and this one), figures a puny parimutuel in the second ($82,437) sire stakes event. The son of Credit Winner has won three of his five seasonal starts ($207,245).

Saturday night, the Raceway's marquee open event for frosh pacing colts and geldings in the $100,000 Lawrence B. Sheppard. No elims were needed this past Saturday as only eight entered. The Sheppard, honoring the man behind the tremendous success of Hanover Shoe Farms, is to be drawn Tuesday morning.
