Eligibles announced for Levy, Matchmaker Series
Thursday, March 12, 2015 - by Frank Drucker, publicity director, Empire City at Yonkers Raceway

Yonkers, NY --- Yonkers Raceway has announced the list of eligibles for its "big boy" and "big girl" pacing series, the 2015 edition of the George Morton Levy Memorial and Blue Chip Matchmaker.

Connections of 62 of the best Free For Allers in training -- 39 Levy and 23 Matchmaker -- have paid to play as both series get underway next weekend -- Matchmaker Friday (March 20) and GM Levy Saturday (March 21).

As is traditionally the case, any number of career seven-figure performers shall be invading Westchester for these events.

Leading the list for the Levy is, of course, Foiled Again. Harness racing's richest-ever horse, with career cash approaching $7 million, is to begin his 11-year-old campaign in this series. He won the Levy consecutively in 2008-09.

Defending series champ P H Supercam is also among the eligibles, along with the likes of Apprentice Hanover, Big Boy Dreams, Clear Vision, Dancin Yankee, Lucan Hanover and Warrawee Needy.

Somwherovrarainbow, who won the Matchmaker a season ago, is among the leading lasses this season. Anndrovette, a four=time consecutive (once in a dead-heat) older female pacer of the year, is also Matchmaker-bound, along with Carolsideal, Sayitall BB and Yagonnakissmeornot.

Both the Levy ($50,000 per race) and Matchmaker ($40,000 per event) offer five preliminary legs, with finals (and consolations) scheduled for Saturday (April 25).

A list of eligibles for both series are available above.

Changing subjects, a friendly reminder that the Thursday (March 12) Pick-5 offers a carryover of $3,178.11 (50 cent base wager, races seven through 11).
