Yonkers' Monday Pick-5 gets noticedYonkers' Monday Pick-5 gets noticedTuesday, August 12, 2014 - by Frank Drucker, publicity director, Empire City at Yonkers Raceway Yonkers, NY --- Yonkers Raceway's Monday night Pick-5, which began with a carryover of $3,340.32, did receive the requisite amount of play. A total $13,835 of new money went into the pot, and the resulting winning quintet of 2-3-3-2-5 returned a popular (all wagering favorites) $44.37 for every 50 cent wager. The Pick-5 is a 50 cent base wager offered on races five through nine nightly. It has no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Saturday), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next racing program. The Raceway's five night per week live schedule continues, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily.
