--- Foiled Again, was, indeed foiled again for the second consecutive week, in the final of the $567,000 Levy Memorial at Yonkers Raceway, as PH Supercam and driver Jason Bartlett used the passing lane to get by the field to win in 1.52.3. PH Supercam is trained by PJ Fraley for Bamond Racing.

PH Supercam defeated Apprentice Hanover and Foiled Again to win the Levy Memorial at Yonkers Raceway on Saturday.
Favored Foiled Again and regular driver Yannick Gingras were first to the :27.2 first quarter with Sapphire City sitting behind that duo. They held that lead to the :56.2 to the half-mile marker, but on to the 1:24.4 three-quarters, the competition was stacking up on the outside to try to stage a takeover of Foiled Again on the lead.

As soon as the passing lane opened up in the stretch, PH Supercam was quick to drop in to and make up ground as Foiled Again vainly fought to retain the lead. Apprentice Hanover made a hard charge down the lane to finish second, with Foiled Again holding for third.

"He's such a great horse," said winning driver Jason Bartlett. "You can race him how the race unfolds, he can go left, he can go right, he can leave, come off a helmet. He does anything you ask him to do. Tonight, when he got in the passing lane, the last eighth of a mile, he really kicks in and that's what he did tonight."

The photo of a rainbow seen on the way to the track and posted to Facebook by owner Ted Gewertz's wife Clare Chappell was indeed a sign that this was the night for the 4-year-old pacing mare they own with Diamond Creek Racing. Somewherovrarainbow was the winner by about a length in the $371,400 Blue Chip Matchmaker Stake at Yonkers Raceway in 1:52.3.

When heavily favored Yagonnakissmeornot and driver Dan Dube paced on to the early lead, Somewherovrarainbow and Brian Sears were right behind those two in to the :27 first quarter and on to the :55.4 half. Anndrovette was trying to work her way from off the pace to the lead by the three quarters (1:23.4), but Yagonnakissmeornot maintained her lead as the field turned for home.

When the passing lane opened, Somewherovrarainbow was the first horse in it and each stride drew her closer to the lead. She got her nose in front a few strides from the lead for the victory in 1:52.3 over Yagonnakissmeornot and Krispy Apple, who split horses in the middle of the track to be third.

"You always contemplate other things happening in a race," said winning driver Brian Sears. "I thought Anndrovette or maybe Rocklamation would leave out of there pretty hard and my mare has been a little steppy in the first turn and with the rail sometimes you get a little pinched. She's had some foot issues for a couple weeks but I've got to give a lot credit to Joe (trainer Holloway), she was smooth as silk, going to the quarter in :27 so I was really happy with how she got around the turns.

"I was wary going in to the turn but I know she was going to be good in the straightaway, I just didn't know if I was going to have to steady her through the first turn or not."

The winning mare, in addition to the half of the purse, also gets a stallion service to one of the Blue Chip stallions.
