FAVORITES FEELING YOU, BRANDO'S MUSCLE MAN WIN FRIDAY 37G CO-FEATURES
BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Friday, November 15, 2013--Yonkers Raceway's Friday night $37,000 co-featured Open Handicaps--Pace for the ladies and Trot for any who could pass initiation--were won by millionairess-in-waiting Feeling You (Jason Bartlett, $5.50) and a couldn't-be-any-simpler Brando's Muscle Man (Eric Goodell, $4).

Ordered behind the eight-ball for her first local try since mid-September, a wide-early Feeling You worked around longshot Fast and Feisty (Goodell) before a :27.4 opening quarter-mile.

From there, the 17-10 favorite rated a :57.1 intermission before Campanille (Brandon Simpson) moved from fourth. That one quickly went around a dullard in Shootoutthelights (Brian Sears) before ducking back in.

Meanwhile, Camille (George Brennan) was left first-up in and out of a 1:25.1 three-quarters. Feeling You opened a couple of lengths in the lane and was never threatened The final margin was tidy length-and-a-quarter in 1:53.2.

The photo could not divide Campanille and Fast Feisty for second, while Rock N Load (Jordan Stratton) and Sir Jillian Z Tam (Pat Lachance) came away with the small change.

For Feeling You, a 6-year-old Alan Kirshenbaum-bred daughter of Cambest trained by Amber Buter for co-owners Tyler Buter, Stephen Oldford and Oldford Farms, it was her 12th win in 25 seasonal starts (career earnings now at $985,096.

The exactas paid $22.40 (with Campanille second) and $35.20 (Fast and Feisty second), with the triples
returning $346.50 (Campanille/"Feisty") and $469.50 ("Feisty"/Campanille).

The week's marquee trot saw Brando's Muscle Man, generously assigned post position No. 4, have issues whatsoever (:28.1, :58.2, 1:27.1, 1:56.2). Mugshot Jess (Stratton) was loosely pocketed, with an uncovered Haulin' Laser (Dan Dube) not doing much.

"Brando's" length-and-a-three-quarters turning for home was a length-and-half at the wire. Mugshot Jess was second, with Ex King (Jim Pantaleano), Wind Surfer (Brennan) and Likeabatouahell (Bartlett) settling for the remainder.

For Brando's Muscle Man, a 5-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding owned and trained by Gilberto Garcia-Herrera, he's now 5-for-18 in '13. The exacta paid $20.80, the triple returned $138.50 and the superfecta paid $657.

No one took home Friday night's Pick-5 wager, so Saturday's edition (50-cent base wager, races 5 though 9), led by a $5012.58 carryover, shall include a $10,000 guaranteed pool.

The Raceway's five-night-per-week live schedule continues, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 PM. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting now available daily.
